Indicative rate of pay: $85p/hr

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

An exciting opportunity exists for two Hospital Medical Officers to join the team at the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital (SCUPH) commencing in June 2022 (with some shift availability in April and May).

This is a clinical role working in an acute private hospital with a flexible roster requiring only one weekend and one run of nightshift per month (2-4 nights).

Shifts are:
Weekdays 0745-1615, 1100-1900, 1400-2230 & 1930-0800
Weekends 0730-2000, 1200-1800, 1930-0800

There are 4 main wards that these shifts cover and work includes cover for general medicine, respiratory medicine, renal medicine, neurology, oncology, haematology, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, general surgery, orthopaedic surgery, urology, neurosurgery and ENT surgery.

SCUPH offers a unique job opportunity with exposure to multiple medical and surgical specialties in a supportive environment.
This is an excellent opportunity to work directly with consultants and gain experience in these areas prior to moving toward specialty training, general practice or moving into a permanent career medical officer role at the hospital.

All ward based shifts at SCUPH are supported by 24/7 intensive care unit availability.

All available contracts include Advanced Life Support recertification (adult and paediatric courses), regular education and specialist support.

Prior experience in cardiology or medical admitting is desirable. Suitable for PGY4+

Ideally candidates will be available for 72 hours per fortnight, less will be considered.

Hourly rate as advertised plus super, holidays and sick leave. Above award all inclusive rate.

This role is supported by our hospital HMO team leader who has worked at SCUPH since 2017. During this time SCUPH has supported a variety of HMO’s who have utilised the experience to gain entry into varying training programs. SCUPH also offers long term career medical officer positions.
